Maintenance Worker I

Iroquois County Highway Department has a full time position available for a Maintenance Worker I. Duties included but not limited to: repair and maintenance of culverts, signs, and bridges; brush removal; mowing; equipment repair; and snow removal. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and have a valid Illinois Class A drivers’ license.

NEWS RELEASE

County Treasurer, Mindy Kuntz Hagan, has announced that the 2011 payable in 2012 real estate tax statements have been mailed to the taxpayers of Iroquois County. The deadline to pay the first installment without penalty is June 14, 2012. The second installment due date is September 14, 2012. After the due dates a 1½ percent penalty must be added each month it remains unpaid, according to Illinois State Statutes.

Health Department Issues Citations

9 Establishments receive citations for Smoking

Ford-Iroquois counties – An enforcement team from the Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department visited 20 establishments in Ford and Iroquois counties this past Monday, May 7th to determine if they were in compliance with the Smoke-Free Illinois Act. Persons were found smoking in nine of the establishments. Owners of these establishments will receive a citation and will be fined $250 for the first offense violation.

Health Department Releases Quarterly Inspection Results

FIPH logoThe Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department completed 165 routine food establishment inspections during the first quarter of 2012. According to Terry Eimen, Director of Environmental Health for the agency, twenty-three establishments had no deficiencies in any of the forty-five categories of possible violation. Eimen indicated that the health department publishes the names of all food establishments who achieve this status on a quarterly basis. “We always hope that all food establishments will strive to meet these standards. We congratulate those who have taken the necessary steps to accomplish this level of excellence.”
